Use your Talents!!

Before you read: Have you read the story in the bible that talk about talents? It’s a popular story, if you haven’t read it you should read. So you can learn something from it like I did. The story is in Matthew 25:14. 

 

Three years ago (2010) , when I was 15 years old I started a blog. I created the blog because I was interesting in studying Web Design in College and I also like to write. I always wrote stories and read several books when I was little. Reading and Writhing as always being my passion, words mean a lot to me, but I never knew that it was my talent that God gave me until I started the blog. The first week many people saw, read, shared, commented and liked my blog. After seeing that people have interest in what I use to write. I decide to keep doing it and share with other people what I have learned with God. I used to make copies of the article I wrote and gave them to the students in my school. All of the students were talking about me in the school and all of them wanted to know more about the things God had done in my life. Many of the students came to me and asked me for more copies so they can share them with other students.

Few months later, I realized that my blog was a successful idea. So why not doing more articles to evangelist other people through my words? I continued to write more articles and as I wrote them I like more and more writing. But it got to a moment in which I will write something one day and them I will write something else the next month. A year passed, I had stopped completely writing in my blog. I stopped because I though “Why I’m writing this article telling other people to change their life, when I’m not a pastor, a pastor wife or even God?  I can’t be telling other to change their life and be transformed, when I’m a person who also makes mistakes like them?” I let the devil speak to my ears and after that I didn’t want to write any more until this year.

God showed me that he gives talents to people for them to use them, not for them to keep their talents and save them. I knew that writing articles was the talent that God gave me, and I even knew how to use it. The devil didn’t want me to use my talent because he knows if I use the talent God gave me. I will be helping God to save more souls for his kingdom. So the devil didn’t want me to do that. Now that I know better about the talents God give to people, I will use my talent that he gave me that is writing. I know that I’m not a professional writer , I know that I don’t even know how to spell word right ( Specially in English), I know that I’m not God to tell other people to stop doing something or to change their life. But who cares! If God gave me this talent of expressing my thoughts in words, so I will use my talent and not save it. Because that’s what the devil wants me to do. He wants me to save my talent and that way I wouldn’t be able to use it to glorify my God’s name.

From now one I will use my talent and I will never stop using it. I encourage you to do the same and use your talent; don’t save it because that’s what the devil wants you to do.
